2K Games is setting its sights on the Switch as the next console for its flagship franchises.
It’s looking to be a busy time for 2K Games this May. As revealed during the Nintendo Direct Mini, of which we did a convenient roundup, the developer revealed their intentions to release several of its most well-loved franchises to the Switch. The aforementioned franchises are BioShock, Borderlands, and XCOM 2.
Neatly wrapped in one trailer, it cycled through clips of the three series alongside cycling emojis. Each emoji represented something from the respected game and something it’s compatible with and not compatible with.
The games will come with all its affiliated DLC, free of charge. Before you ask, no, Borderlands 3 isn’t on its roster of games headed to the Switch.
This will no doubt turn heads to the Switch. By and large, this console has been a strange time for them. Not only have they allowed a ton of third-party developers to make games on the console with little to no restrictions when it came to rating, but it even brought back a game that was canned for the ESRB considering it to be AO rather than M.
Nevertheless, the inclusion of these hits will definitely prove they’ve shed their child-focused personality as we’ve heard so many times before. That said, they’ll still continue what they do best and it just so happens to be targeting families seeking family-friendly gaming.
BioShock, Borderlands, and XCOM 2 will be launching to the Switch on May 29. 2020.
Are you going to be picking up any of these 2K Games titles when they launch?
