Animal Crossing: New Horizons has made it to the top of UK’s sales chart.
In a pleasant turn of events for Nintendo, Animal Crossing: New Horizons has been a very well-received entry to its line of games. It’s topped a ton of other games this week in the UK. This isn’t too shocking considering fans have been waiting for an AC title to come to the Switch since launch.
The game has even done a great job at bolstering the franchise, having become the biggest launch week in AC‘s history. In fact, its previous entries couldn’t even compare as you can even add them up and it still less than New Horizons.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons was number one with Doom: Eternal, which also just released, below it and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare below that. This list actually is quite different than last week. Not only did the inclusion of two new entries in the first and second slots push some games down a bit, but even the existing games still on the list moved for better or worse.
Modern Warfare moved from fifth place to third place while the likes of FIFA 20, Red Dead Redemption 2, Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy, and Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled all moved up in the ranks. Grand Theft Auto V remained stagnant, though. It also wasn’t all uphill, either as Mario Kart 8: Deluxe dropped a few ranks, previously holding second place and fits snuggly in fifth place this week.
