Bandai Namco US accidentally trashed Animal Crossing: New Horizons on Twitter.
The US branch of Bandai Namco made a big oopsie on Twitter Sunday. Seemingly on a random tirade, whoever’s in charge of the account decided to voice their opinion on Nintendo’s one island per console policy in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
The opinion, which holds true to a lot of people, wasn’t positive. Users who don’t want to share the island due to the fact this would cut into resources would be forced to get a whole new console just to play it the way they want. This was exactly the frustration the social media person seemed to have held at that moment.
Instead of, you know, going to their personal Twitter, they probably didn’t look at whether they were on their account or the company’s Twitter. Sure enough, it didn’t take long before someone pointed it out and it was swiftly deleted (archived by GoNintendo). Though, it’s the internet and – as we all know – the internet never forgets.
Bandai Namco haven’t released any sort of statement, probably – rightfully – expecting this to blow over. It’s unclear if it was deleted by the person who – after coming down from their tweeting high – made it or if it was some other part of the social media team. Whatever the case might be, odds are the social media person either got the boot or a stern talking to.
In any case, what camp are you in? Do you not like the one island per console rule?
