Become a haunted building architect in Nekojishi: Lin & Partners.
The Switch has been quite a difference for Nintendo, having pushed the buttons and allowed many other developers the opportunity to develop for the console. Not every developer needs to make a family-friendly, cutesy game. Here we have Nekojishi: Lin & Partners.
Funded by an already successful and ongoing Kickstarter, the game is going to put you in the shoes of Liao, a college grad strapped for cash. With the help of his spirit and godly anthropomorphic friends, he finds himself taking part in the brand-new venture of Lin & Partners Architects LLP, an architect company specializing in haunted building restoration. This, of course, meant he seemingly had to relocate to a world rife with gods and spirits, but that’s fine.
What’s In The Game
In the game, you can partake in a good bit of exploring and learning of the culture and folklore surrounding Taiwan. The mode also allows you to solve puzzles and take on side quests alongside the main story of building up Lin & Partners.
Of course, no game is complete without some level of conflict and said conflict comes in the form of debate battles. In these battles, credibility is your HP and your goal is to drop your opponent’s to zero. You damage their credibility with argument cards, all of which change based on a myriad of factors including who you have by your side and side quests completed.
Nekojishi: Lin & Partners is the next game from Studio Klondike. They previously made Nekojishi, a free-to-play visual novel which is, for the lack of better words, not made for children. You can pick it up on Steam. Though, it doesn’t appear it’d be required to understand this title.
There isn’t any concrete release date, but if their timeline is to be believed, they plan to have Nekojishi: Lin & Partners ready to release by mid to late 2021 to the Switch.
