Cooking Mama: Cookstar

Cooking Mama: Cookstar released late last month to the eShop… then was quickly pulled with no word from the developer when it’s coming back.

The release of Cooking Mama: Cookstar happened late last month. Let’s rephrase that, it happened and then it was pulled from the eShop, never to be mentioned by its developer again. Also, no reference as to why they decided to pull the title, but still sell it on Amazon and Walmart.

If you can’t stand the heat, get into Mama’s kitchen! #CookingMama is back with her most fantastic and fun video game adventure ever!

Introducing Cooking Mama: Cookstar. A brand-new Cooking Mama experience created for Nintendo Switch™.

Some diligent fans have gone into speculation mode, thinking it was no more than an accidental release. Others went full-reporter and made attempts to contact Nintendo or Planet Entertainment, the developer behind Cookstar, only to not really get many clear answers.

Cooking mama update. I called 3518 PARTNERS LLC who owns Planet entertainment according to the official cooking mama website and spoke to Steve. Who told me Nintendo is having issues on their end getting the game up but it is supposed to be on the store today. So ya know. FUCK

Twitter user @cabbitchpatch went about trying her best to dig deep enough to find out what happened. According to her, she contacted the LLC that owns Planet Entertainment. Supposedly, Nintendo was having issues getting it to the eShop on their end. But, others claim it was all on the developer.

Reddit user Anabel1231 claimed to have contacted Nintendo’s support who claimed it was on the developer and that the rep has never seen such this happen. The pull was so that they could wait until a “hard launch,” which hasn’t had a confirmed release date.

Whelp, its Cooking Mama: Cookstar launch day and still no work from Devs or Publisher or literally anyone. from Switch

All in all, the mystery behind Cooking Mama: Cookstar‘s random release and pull will remain a mystery until we finally see a full release where they’ll hopefully shed some light at least off-handedly.

Absolutely loves Pokémon and sought to write about it and Nintendo as a whole. After coming to the final decision... he decided to just start one himself all the while contributing to many other publications.
