It’s possible as early as next week, we could see a brand-new Nintendo Direct!

Rumors are circulating that Nintendo could be hosting a brand-new Nintendo Direct as early as next week. Per the latest episode of GamesBeat Decides, he lobbed a possible date to the next Direct.

His speculation is August 28, which is in line with other industry insiders’ claims. Grubb said there’s a “strong possibility” during the video-podcast.

“I’ve heard a few things and I think there’s a strong possibility that there is a Nintendo Direct next week, on Friday [the 28th]. That’s the date I’ve heard.”

Naturally, the journalist made sure to temper his audience’s excitement as fans have been scorn before with the July Partner Direct, which wasn’t at all what people expected. But, he kept his fans optimistic, too by asserting it’d likely be a general Direct. “I think there’s a lot of science pointing to next week being a general Direct, and there is a general Direct coming up, it seems like for sure.”

The main piece of evidence for a general Direct, in Grubb’s eyes, is the ferocity of Nintendo fans wanting to know what next big games they’re working on. COVID-19 has no doubt put a damper on Nintendo’s abilities to do the full Directs we’ve come to know them for. With the “special meeting” Nintendo has slated for investors and Japan-based media in mid-September, they can cut down the questions fans will no doubt have.

“I think that it makes a lot of sense for them to get a Direct out of the way before that happens, so they don’t have to answer questions like, ‘what games are coming up?’”

It’s been a struggle for fans to come back from a pre-2013 mindset when Nintendo was churning out Nintendo Directs to keep the public informed. As of late 2019, though, they’ve really dipped in this model, with its last full-fledged general Direct tied to their own properties being back in September.

Absolutely loves Pokémon and sought to write about it and Nintendo as a whole. After coming to the final decision... he decided to just start one himself all the while contributing to many other publications.
