Nintendo is still having issues with the production of new Switch consoles.
The COVID-19 pandemic has caused a lot of delays in the production and distribution of gaming hardware and software. Attempting to purchase a Nintendo Switch is proving to be near impossible. Nintendo Switch consoles are selling for ridiculously high prices because of the current demand.
In a report by Nintendo Life, Nintendo have commented on the current situation. A spokesperson has shared an update regarding the delays on the availability of the Switch consoles.
“We didn’t mention the Switch Lite because there was still enough stock in the market at the time of publication [in February]. But the point that many of its parts are made in China is the same. We are doing various efforts inside the company; although shipments haven’t stagnated, they are getting delayed.”

This statement refers to an apology notice that was posted by the company back in February. Most retailers across the UK and US are unable to keep up with the demand. The newly released Animal Crossing: New Horizons has been effective in garnering interest for Nintendo’s family of Switch systems. Both the Switch and Switch Lite are elusive in the market, so it may be a while before this changes. We will keep you updated with the latest goings-on.
