Pokémon Sword And Shield: Nintendo To Ban Deliberate Disconnectors

Abusing the Pokémon Sword and Shield battle exploit will result in a ban.

Not long ago, salty online players discovered an exploit in Pokémon Sword and Shield. By hitting the power button at the right time, players can cheese the win-loss ratio, making it so they never lost the battle… or that you never won it. Of course, people have been abusing it and it’s caused quite a disturbance in the online battle scene.

In the last few weeks of its findings, it’s gotten to the point that Nintendo can’t ignore it anymore. They have addressed it and will be dishing out sweet justice.

In a recent post on Pokémon‘s support section (via NintendoSoup), they detailed how they’ll begin dishing out temporary or even permanent bans to the abusers of this exploit. This is certainly a welcome thing for many players who’s been scorned by a battle they were at the cusp of winning, only to see the player drop out and you never get that much-deserved win.

Read the full statement:

“We truly thank you for supporting Pokemon Sword and Shield.

We are able to confirm that a number of players have been disconnecting from the Internet to manipulate their win/loss records for online battles and tournaments.

From now on, if we determine that players abuse this bug for their own gain in online battles and tournaments, we will not hesitate to temporarily ban or even permanently ban players from accessing online play in Pokemon Sword and Shield.”

What do you think? Are you happy to see this action being taken?

Absolutely loves Pokémon and sought to write about it and Nintendo as a whole. After coming to the final decision... he decided to just start one himself all the while contributing to many other publications.
