The first expansion for Pokémon: Sword and Shield, Isle of Armor, launches later this June. Here is everything we know about the upcoming DLC!
The Isle of Armor is the first expansion for Pokémon: Sword and Shield and it is slated for a launch sometime in June. The expansion pass for Pokémon Sword and Shield also includes The Crown Tundra, which will launch later this year. There is a lot to uncover in The Isle of Armor, so here is everything we know so far.
New Legendary Pokémon
On your adventure through the Isle of Armor, you’ll be introduced to Kubfu, a fighting-type Pokémon. Kubfu is your partner Pokémon in this journey and will evolve into Urshifu. You’ll take Kubfu to one of two towers known as the “Towers of Two Fists.” Depending on which one you choose, Urshifu’s form will be determined. This will be Single Strike Style or Rapid Strike Style. The former transforms Urshifu into a Fighting/Dark-type while the latter opts for a Fighting/Water-type.
When you arrive on the Isle of Armor, you’ll head to the Dojo, which is ran by Mustard, an old man who gifts you Kubfu. There are two new rivals as well, Klara in Sword and Avery in Shield. There are undoubtedly more faces you’ll meet on your journey through this new landscape.
The three Galar starter Pokémon will finally be able to Gigantamax. Rillaboom, Cinderace and Inteleon will all be able to take on distinct forms. Not only will the starters be able to do this, but the newly-introduced Urshifu will also have a Gigantamax form too. Each form will come with their own signature move. Personally, I’m looking forward to Cinderace’s the most.
An Isle Of Armor Wild Area To Explore
The Isle of Armor boasts a new Wild Area for you to explore. The environment includes a beautiful beach setting with various fields and much more. We’ll also the likes of lush forests and various caves. Not much has been shown in the trailer footage, but there is a lot to uncover when it releases in June.
More Customization Items
The Isle of Armor also comes with a bunch of new options to customize your trainer’s look. There’s even the option to dress up as the fan-favorite character, Marnie! Additionally, there will be more league card backgrounds and options to give your trainer more personality.
There you have it, that’s everything we know about the upcoming Isle of Armor expansion. If you purchase the expansion pass before August 31st, you’ll even receive Leon’s cap and tights. There’s a lot to be looking forward to, and we also have the second expansion – The Crown Tundra – coming later this winter.
