After around a year on the Nintendo eShop, Jikkyou Powerful Pro Yakyuu (AKA Power Pros) has been removed.
Baseball-centered Jikkyou Powerful Pro Yakyuu (more widely known as Power Pros) has been removed on the Japanese eShop with seemingly no warning. The removal took effect immediately and it leaves a hole in the spot of any of its players.
The removal – while obvious and confirmed – was out of the left-field as they gave no indication as to why the game was shelves, but it was likely to do with licensing issues. This can mean it will either work out and be back on the eShop later this year or will forever be gone from the digital storefront.
Created by Konami, Power Pros is a baseball game using real player stadiums, colors, and likenesses thanks to forming a license with the Nippon Professional Baseball and Japan Professional Baseball Players Association. The game is most known for the bizarre character design choices. These choices include a lack of a mouth, ears, and nose and a weirdly shaped head.
Despite the bizarre nature, it was acclaimed by fans in Japan. The same couldn’t be said, though, for the North American audiences where it sold poorly and held mixed reviews.
What do you think of the news? Is it disappointing news to you?
