Ring Fit Adventure is in high demand as many are staying indoors to avoid the Coronavirus.
As the Coronavirus continues to spread (and has even gotten to this author’s state of Alaska – albeit in a contained manner – recently), gaming has reaped some of the only rewards it can, more people stuck inside as they practice “social distancing.” But, some enjoy a good workout and don’t have the equipment to do so, so they turn to games. But, there’s one game that apparently is in high demand for the Switch, Ring Fit Adventure.
The game, which uses a “Ring-Con” and leg strap bundled into one package, probably wasn’t expecting it to fly off the shelves as quickly as it did. By February, the game was already sold out in Japan. Jump forward a month and it’s sold out almost anywhere in the US and Canada.
Is Ring Fit Adventure So Popular Because Of COVID-19?
Officially, the success of this exercise-based game hasn’t been attributed to COVID-19. Ring Fit Adventure is also priced higher than the average new game, marking itself as $79.99 in the US and $99.99 in Canada. The people might not have expected such high demand for the title and opted to make significantly fewer copies. Imagine their shock when it flew off the shelves and people have been scouring the internet for a copy.
This isn’t the only way to get fit, of course, some gyms are still open after all. That said, it’s probably best for people to skip that method right now. You know, with the virus spreading and all, it might not be wise to waltz in and start using the equipment we all know everyone has touched that day.

Gaming has had quite a shaky time amid the virus outbreak. Multiple events have been canceled including the Game Developers Conference, which will be hosted more in a video format freely online. E3, which up until earlier in the month was very adamant that it was still going strong, also got canned.
Are you disappointed? Were you hoping to get your hands on a copy?
