Nintendo is planning to release Mario titles new and old this year.

In a report from Eurogamer, multiple sources have told them that Nintendo is planning a huge celebration for the 35th anniversary of the Super Mario Bros. franchise.

To celebrate 35 years of Super Mario goodness, Nintendo will announce re-releases of a majority of the series’ backlog. This supposedly includes the likes of Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, and Super Mario Galaxy.

Nintendo is also planning to release several new installments, including a new Paper Mario game and a deluxe version of Super Mario 3D World.

These are apparently scheduled to be announced alongside new details of Nintendo’s partnership with Universal. This includes the upcoming Super Nintendo World theme park and the animated Mario movie by Illumination.

We already know about the LEGO partnership, as LEGO Super Mario sets were announced recently. It seems like there is a lot in store for the mustachioed plumber in 2020. The reveal was originally going to take place at E3 2020 but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, plans are currently being reviewed.

Nintendo has celebrated similar milestones for the Mario franchise in the past. For the 30th Anniversary in 2015, we saw the release of Super Mario Maker on the Wii U. There’s no doubt that we’ll see more in the coming months. We’ll keep you updated with any new updates regarding the 35th anniversary of Super Mario.

What possible Super Mario Bros. re-release are you hoping for?
